Noumea, New Caledonia

New Caledonia (in French: Nouvelle-Calédonie) is a territory of the French Republic located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, 1500 kilometers east of Australia. The country has gained a high degree of autonomy since 1988 through a decolonization process leading to full autonomy or  independence. A referendum will take place on November 2018 to decide on the future status of the island.

Noumea is located in the Southern Province of New Caledonia. It is the capital city which boasts its natural landscapes and scenic views. Spectacular bays and picturesque islands are scattered in the archipelago. Noumea has about 100,000 inhabitants and is known for its warm hospitality.
