• ABOUT THE HOST INSTITUTION

    The National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) is a non-ministerial government institution
    that is directly under the President of the Republic of Indonesia to conduct the management of records and archives administration in Indonesia. ANRIā€™s Headquarters is located at the country’s capital city of Jakarta, which become the main office and repository for its archival collections. ANRI also holds other facilities like the Center for Presidential Archives Studies at West Jakarta, Center for Corruption Eradication Archives Studies at South Jakarta, Center for Archival Training and Education at Bogor, West Java and Center for Tsunami and Disaster Archives Studies at Aceh, Sumatra.

     

    ANRIā€™s collections encompasses from 1602 to the present which is divided from the period of the Dutch East India Company, the Dutch Colonial Government, British Interregnum, Japanese Military Occupation, and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia. The archives consist of multiple formats which includes the audiovisual materials that is increasing every year with the addition from other creating agencies via acquisition process. The audiovisual collections of ANRI until 2023 consist of 59,055 film reels, 27,506 videocassettes, 55,469 audiocassettes, 946 reels of reel-to-reel sound, 101 discs of vinyl recordings, and 3,480,179 sheets of photographs.
    In 1997, ANRI became a member of SEAPAVAA. ANRI has also hosted the 13th SEAPAVAA Conference at Bandung and Jakarta in 2009. Following the results of 26th SEAPAVAA Virtual General Assembly in 2022 and 27th SEAPAVAA General Assembly in 2023 at Pattaya, Thailand, ANRI will be hosting the 28th SEAPAVAA Conference and General Assembly in 2024 at Surakarta, Central Java.
