PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Greetings friends, colleagues, and partners!

We are excited at the prospect of meeting everyone at the 28^th SEAPAVAA Conference and General Assembly from 10 – 14 June 2024. Our host, the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) is already working hard behind the scenes, and we are grateful for their hospitality.

Navigating New Horizons in Audiovisual Archiving as a theme that aptly addresses the myriad of existing and new concerns facing the AV archiving industry. Amidst issues of growing environmental anxieties, fast paced technological changes, growing expenses and dwindling budgets, retention of staff, and many more matters, how can AV archivists meet such challenges?

To face these increasingly demanding times, innovative, resourceful and imaginative management methodologies and solutions must be employed. The SEAPAVAA conference will offer participants and speakers the opportunity to network, discuss, debate and learn from each other.

Surrounded by the beautiful environment of the UNESCO recognised region of Central Java, attendees will experience the special warmth of SEAPAVAA’s community and the rich culture of Indonesia.
